Public meeting on Tuesday, March 26, at 4:30 PM
The Town Board Regular Meeting will be held on March 26, 2024 from 4:30 pm – 5:30 pm. The location is Town Hall – Meeting Hall at 53095 Mail Road, Southold,.
This meeting is being held to discuss extending the Town’s moratorium on BESS facilities. The current one-year moratorium is set to expire on April 11, 2024.
The Town adopted the moratorium so it would have sufficient time to undertake a thorough examination of BESS facilities. This came after a 60-megawatt BESS facility was proposed on Oregon Road in the winter of 2022-2023.
